National Centre of Indigenous Excellence

This adaptive re-use of the existing Redfern Public School site to incorporate the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence comprised, a sports complex, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, a swimming pool, childcare centre, commercial space and a new playing field.

SDA provided Structural and Civil engineering services for the project, and limited groundwork costs by utilizing the filled areas of the site to encapsulate the mildly contaminated excavated material.

The building structure comprised long-span steel trusses, post-tensioned and reinforced concrete floors and steel screw piled foundations.
