A two-storey residence on a challenging sloping site, Balmoral house is melded from multiple construction types: load bearing masonry walls support a reinforced concrete first floor, replete with off-form concrete soffits; the upper floor a steel framed and composite slab roof adopted for speed and to reduce foundation loads.
The ‘piece de resistance’ is a sculptural steel framed stair hung from above, that punctuates through and forms part of a glazed elevation.
